365 Days of Cable-Propelled Transit

Starting on November 1st, 2009, I began posting one column per day for 365 days straight – one full year of cable transit.

The idea was that by the end of that year, The Gondola Project should be a useful and comprehensive resource for people to learn about and understand Cable-Propelled Transit.

Some columns were to be technical and analytical, others more casual and philosophical. The hope being that a balance between cable-specific and transit-generalist posts would have wider reach and appeal.

As is often the case, however, optimism got the better of me. While I finished the 365 Days on November 1st, 2010, I quickly learned something: It takes more than a year to build a community.

As such, I’ve decided to stick with The Gondola Project and keep pumping out a column per day – with the help of other contributors, editors and creators.

We’re now in the midst of our second year of producing material, and we’re pleased to see readership and interest in cable transit increase on a monthly basis.

Let’s see what the next 365 days bring us, shall we?
