Chilliwack, Canada, is the first ever recipient of financing from both Doppelmayr and POMA for their gondola project.
Construction for the Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows Gondola has broken ground. Construction crews are laying the groundwork, and underground work, for the region’s first ever base-to-base gondola. As helicopters fly in tons of concrete for the foundations, the power line, internet lines, snowmaking pipes are being rerouted. The project was in the making for many years as negotiations with a private landowner took place, as well as a lengthy environmental review process. The gondola will connect both resort bases replacing the seven-mile drive.
Oman’s first cable car is expected to open to the public in 2023. The cable car will bring visitors to the Oman Botanic Garden, near the southeastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula. Once completed, the garden will be among the largest botanic gardens in the world, spanning 420 hectares.
