This Week’s Tweak — Databases 2

Post by hulia-j

In an effort to continually improve and expand the offerings on The Gondola Project, each week we’re rolling out a “tweak” to the site. If there’s a part of the website you’d like to see “tweaked” send us an email at gondola (at) creativeurbanprojects (dot) com.

This week we continue the overhaul of our “database” pages. For starters, we’ve created a new page called System Index, in which we will index all the cable systems that have been discussed in past posts. Please note that this will be an on going project and has only just begun. Right now the only information collected has been transfered directly from the Systems We’re Following page. This is the page where we follow systems through the proposal, planning, and construction phases. The only problem was that there was no where to put this information once the system was built — hence the creation of the System Index page!

Another re-organizational tweak this week was the shifting of the image-based collections (Photo Essays and Video Galleries) to the Image Gallery tab in the header. These pages are now found alongside the Flickr Gallery page in the drop down menu.

Over the next few weeks we hope to see these databases, especially the new Index page, continue to grow. As always, more tweaks next week!
