The Awana Skyway, built by Leitner Ropeways, is Malaysia’s latest cable car. The 2.8km aerial system, is one of the two gondolas that provide passengers with direct transportation to Genting Highlands.

- Cabins: 99 (10 glass bottom)
- Max Speed: 6 m/s (21.6 km/h)

- Travel time: 10 minutes

For those who are unfamiliar with Malaysia, Genting Highlands is a hill resort known for its eclectic array of entertainment, shopping and gambling options.
The 10-MDG Awana Skyway was built to replace the old aerial tram system which reached the end of its life cycle in 2014 after being in operations for 40 years.
While the cable car was originally scheduled to open on August 1, the Skyway team was still waiting for final regulatory approvals at the time of this post’s writing.
