- Bhawan-Bhairon passenger ropeway is celebrating a successful first year! The system was commissioned on December 24, 2018 and has carried 2 million visitors since that time. The aerial tramway can carry as many as 800 people an hour to an altitude of 6,600 feet to the Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi.
- Schladming-Dachstein ski resort in Austria has updated their six-seater lift with Doppelmayr’s D-Line 10-seater gondola. The system’s capacity will increase by more than 70%, with the ability to transport 3,800 pph. The new lift takes 12 minutes to travel 3.6km to the top station. The cabins also are of a unique design. They are made primarily with glass, giving riders expansive views, and have individual wood and leather seats.
- Mt Ruapehu is now New Zealand’s hottest summer destination with the opening of Sky Waka. The $25 million gondola was constructed in just 8 months. The tourist attraction travels 1.8km to Mt Ruapehu peak, where there are attractions such as cafes, restaurants, and retail stores.
- The Trebevic cable car has become one of the must-see destinations for all tourists coming to Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. According to the article, the reconstruction of the 2.2 km long cable car is one of the most important post-war developments related to economic development. The system has had over one million visitors since the grand opening in April of 2018.
