Weekly Roundup: Relieving Traffic Tension

Post by Gondola Project

This bridge over the Brahmaputra River in Assam, India can take travelers an hour or more. A cable-car has now opened to relieve travelers of that burden.
  • India’s longest river ropeway system has opened. The 1.8 km aerial tramway takes approximately 8 minutes to cross the Brahmaputra River. Other travel options are by ferry, which takes half an hour or more, or via a roadway bridge which takes more than an hour during traffic. The transit improvement over the river is expected to boost tourism in North Guwahati.
  • Wings of Tatev in Armenia has free rides for children. Wings of Tatev is the world’s longest reversible aerial tramway and is offering a special deal for school children and kids from orphanages until September 15. Children can get free access and build extraordinary memories of stunning landscapes and panoramic views, as well as the 9th century Tatev Monastery Complex, one Armenia’s most famous religious, cultural and enlightenment centers.
