  • The aerial tram at Snowbird Ski Resort is enchanting passengers. The ride up on the tram is approximately 10 minutes and travels more than 2,900 vertical feet. More than skiers take the ride; guests enjoy the views from the tram and Snowbird’s restaurant, The Summit, located in Little Cottonwood Canyon, Utah. This is one of the ski areas that would benefit from Utah Department of Transportation’s proposed gondola or dedicated bus lane. • The ski industry is booming, in great contrast to the last couple years. Both major ski lift manufacturers, Doppelmayr USA and Leitner-POMA, witnessed an abrupt slowdown in the business at the start of the pandemic. Most projects were postponed and were receiving less new orders. Luckily the market has taken a turn and Leitner has said they have a full list of projects for the summer of 2022 and a record number of new orders to fill.
