- A new gondola system, the Dharamshala Skyway, has opened in India. The 7.75 km monocable detachable gondola (MDG) system with the capacity to move 1,000 people per hour connects the tourist destinations of Dharamshala and Mcleodganj. The travel time between the two locations has been cut to nine minutes compared to several hours during peak tourist season. The ₹207 crore ($27.8 million USD) was financed through a public-private-partnership between Dharamshala Ropeway Limited and Himachal Pradesh’s tourism and civil aviation department.

- The President of the Dominican Republic reported on the Santiago cable car and the monorail in Santo Domingo. The 6.5 km cable car is expected to open in September of 2023. The system will have the capacity to move 4,500 passengers per hour with the expectation that it will serve over 120,000 people. The monorail, currently in the design process, will be integrated with the cable car and is expected to be inaugurated at the end of 2024.
- Vail Resorts is adding 21 new lifts across 14 of their resorts for the 2022-23 season. There are 12 high-speed chairlifts, a high-speed gondola, and eight fixed-grip chairlifts. This is Vail’s biggest single-year investment into their snow sports.
