The Velocibus

Post by Steven Dale

I wonder what Jarrett Walker would say about this:

  1. Excellent. Steven, first of April is in about 4 months again. But I love those shark-faces and the animations within. God bless America ;)
  2. I say that Jarrett would have them run as locals all over Long Island, then would run them at a 3 minute frequency across the US on a single route before becoming local buses again in San Francisco. There'd be a logical system of signage for the bus stops, and then he'd make a nice simple map so the simple people could understand the network. Then he'd declare the bus routes could be built out as rail when demand warranted it, and hope that never happened, because secretly he dresses as a bus driver at home, and issues imaginary tickets to all his friends. Yonah Freemark would wonder where that $40 for the extra stripes of paint was coming from. Steven Dale would try to run a cable under the length of the I-80 for the super bus gripmen to have something to hold onto. And the PRT people would tell us that wait, they have an idea. http://wellingtoncycleways.wordpress.com/2010/02/18/comedy-gold-for-urban-planners/
