A few highlights from around the world of Urban Gondola transit systems and Cable Propelled Transit:
- The Venezuelan Embassy in America celebrates the one year anniversary of the San Augustin Metrocable, praising the system for trimming travel times from up to 2 hours down to 9 minutes.
- In preparation for the Olymics, Russian resort town Sochi is getting 20 new lifts, including a record-breaking 5.383 km long 3S system – the longest such 3S ever built!

- The London Borough of Newham has approved plans for the Thames Cable Car; Newham is located on the north shore of the River Thames. Plan proponents are now waiting for Greenwich Borough Council to approve their side of the plan; Greenwich is located on the south shore of the Thames.
- The Alishan National Scenic Area Administration in Taiwan announces plans for an 11.67 km long cable car system.
- The Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation explicitly calls the new Roosevelt Island Tram an “advanced cable-propelled transit system.“
