  1. Interesting photo's. It is about time Doppelmayr Garaventa actually started properly promoting aerial ropeways for urban applications, instead of just paying it 'lib service' on its website. This is a good start, prime marketing opportunity for them! --- Now the next obvious step (which is years over due!) is actually providing designs and drawings on attractive, sleek, small 'footprint' station designs for sensitive urban environments, where land is at a premium and 'looks' are very important!!!!!! --- Apart from the South American examples (which have massive terminals - for a number of reasons not related to the engineering of the ropeway) we just don't have hardly any material for visualizing and planning systems in urban environments. This is really frustrating for Planners or Engineers trying to consider ropeway technology as a transport option within their cities.
  2. Totally agree. There's some new ideas that just came out of a school in Toronto regarding that point. I'll talk a bit about it next week.
